Welcome! My name is Nicole Rowe. I am a weight loss coach who uses science-based strategies to help midlife women look and feel their best.
I am trained as a board-certified Family Practice physician. I'm also a member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine and a certified Physician Acupuncturist.

I realized pretty quickly in my career that the conventional medical model (that is, conventional in the United States) fails to address important aspects of health and well-being. And with patients booked back-to-back every 20 minutes, it was impossible to spend the necessary amount of time coaching and supporting people who were motivated to make significant lifestyle changes.

I wanted to help people who were feeling stuck -- torn between wanting to get healthier, but not really knowing what to do. I wanted to help women  who had already tried the usual advice of "just eat less and move more," but didn't notice any lasting changes in their body fat levels.

So that's exactly what I did.  Now, I help busy women -- regular people like you and like me, juggling lots of activities and a to-do list that's a mile long -- get the body of their dreams.  Without needing to spend hours in the gym or count every single little calorie.  I support them with the strategies, mindset shifts, exercise programs, nutrition planning, and supplement recommendations that will serve them well in perimenopause, the menopausal transition, and beyond. I help them tailor all these strategies to their individual preferences and lifestyle needs.

And most of all, we get results.

Just ask my client, Kristen*, who lost 7 pounds in 8 weeks and also noticed a significant improvement in her chronic digestive symptoms after starting this program.
Or my other client, Melissa*, who had already tried Weight Watchers, Beach Body, Whole30, and many other commercial weight loss programs before she started this coaching program. She told me later,
"I tried this without expecting any real results, since nothing had worked for me in the past. I was truly blown away by what happened. I lost two dress sizes and multiple inches all over my body.
I feel stronger and I have more energy.  I don't hate looking at pictures of myself on vacation anymore. And best of all, I haven't even been hungry. I still can eat the foods I like, and splurge on occasional treats, without it derailing my progress."

I wasn't surprised at all, because I have personally experienced the same results. Learning to fuel my body in a way that is healthy and sustainable has been a personal transformation for me, and I am passionate about sharing with other women.

You see, when I was in my 20's, I was recovering from some significant life stress. I was extremely rigid and controlled about what I ate in high school and early college, and when I was finally able to let go of that rigidity, I wasn't quite sure what to do next. I ended up in a vicious cycle of eating what I considered "healthy" during the day, making sure I did at least 45 minutes of cardio every day, as well as 30+ minutes of weight training, but then finding myself ravenous by nighttime. That led to lots of nighttime snacking on unhealthy treats and feeling really bad about my choices, vowing to do better the next day.

Meanwhile, my weight crept up almost 20 pounds over what I weighed in high school, and I didn't like the way I looked in my jeans anymore. So, not knowing any other way, I doubled down on my cardio and dieting efforts, becoming even more strict with myself. Unfortunately, I noticed absolutely ZERO long-term change in the scale. And I became almost obsessive about eating healthy and exercise, to the point where I would feel guilty if I missed a workout, even if I was sick or injured.

It wasn't until YEARS later, after I learned much more about nutrition, hormone regulation, and how our bodies adapt to stress, that I was finally able to lose the weight for good. Slowly but surely, the pounds dropped off, and it felt almost...effortless. I'm not saying I didn't have to change some of my habits, but I no longer had the intense cravings or hunger that I used to get, so it didn't feel like a struggle.

I was blown away to discover that I was actually eating MORE than I did when I felt unhappy with my weight.
I returned to my high school weight with no difficulty, and then gradually built 10 more pounds of lean muscle so that now I actually weigh more, but have a lower body fat percentage.

Stubborn weight gain is NOT an inevitable effect of getting older or being busier. I promise you, I'm much busier now than I ever was in college, and I have 3 very active young kids who all came out by c-section. I gained 35+ pounds with each pregnancy, meaning I had that much to lose once I recovered from surgery.
These strategies worked for me, and they can absolutely work for you too, since they are based on the science of fat loss.
